Answers to common questions, and how to reach us.
Never share your recovery phrase, private key, password or Vault passcode — with anyone. BrainArk staff will never ask for them, in chat, by email or anywhere else. Anyone who asks is trying to steal your funds.
When you write to us, tell us your device (Chrome, Firefox or Android), when you installed or last updated BAKvault, and what happened. Your public wallet address is fine to share; nothing else is needed.
Open BAKvault and choose Create a new wallet. Pick a password, then write down the 12-word recovery phrase on paper and keep it somewhere safe. The wallet checks a few of the words before it finishes, so you know you copied them correctly.
Choose Import an existing wallet and type your 12 or 24-word recovery phrase, or a private key. Your addresses on BrainArk, BNB Chain, Ethereum and any EVM network come back as they were. Bitcoin and Solana are only available when you import with a recovery phrase, because a single private key cannot sign for them.
As a browser extension for Chrome and Firefox, as an Android app, and as a web wallet at bakvault.brainark.online/app. The extension and the Android app are installed on your device, which makes them the safer choice for larger amounts.
Tap Forgot password? on the unlock screen and enter your recovery phrase. BAKvault checks it belongs to this wallet and lets you set a new password; your accounts, vault and settings stay as they are.
Nobody at BrainArk can reset or look up your password — it only exists on your device.
While you can still open the wallet, go to Settings → Show recovery phrase and write it down now. If both the phrase and the password are lost, nobody — including BrainArk — can restore the wallet. That is what self-custodial means.
Open your Vault and choose Forgotten passcode. If you added a recovery email when you set up the vault, a code is emailed to you; enter it with a new passcode. Resetting costs a one-time fee of 1 BAK.
If you did not add an email, the vault's emergency exit still lets you withdraw: request the exit, and after four days without a heartbeat from the co-signing service you can withdraw with your wallet key alone.
Yes — Settings → Security has two switches: Ask for password to open the wallet and Ask for password when sending (Bitcoin and Solana). Both are on by default. If you turn off the first one, anyone who can use your device can open the wallet and send your funds, so only do it on a device that is yours alone and has its own screen lock.
Press ⟳ (Refresh) at the top of the wallet. Check you are looking at the right network — a token on BNB Chain will not appear under BrainArk. If it is still missing, use + Add a token and paste the token's contract address.
Tokens flagged as scams, and tokens that falsely claim a balance in every wallet, are hidden on purpose.
Most NFTs you receive appear on their own under NFTs. To add one yourself, use + Add an NFT with the NFT's contract address and token ID.
Go to Settings → Networks. Search the community-listed networks and add one in a tap — BAKvault checks the network's RPC and explorer first — or choose Add a network yourself and enter its details.
Every send shows the network fee before you confirm. On EVM networks you can choose a standard or fast speed and see the expected time. The fee goes to the network, not to BrainArk.
On a computer: with the extension installed, choose BAKvault (or "Browser wallet") on the site. A BAKvault window asks you to approve; nothing is shared until you do.
On Android: open the site in BAKvault's own browser (🧭), or tap Connect with BAKvault on a BrainArk site in Chrome and approve in the app.
Go to Settings → Connected sites and remove it. The site can no longer see your address until you approve it again.
When you approve a site you choose Automatic, Vault or Wallet. Automatic shows whichever of your vault or plain wallet holds more BAK. To change it, disconnect the site in Settings → Connected sites and approve it again.
An optional smart-contract vault on BrainArk or BNB Chain. Anything leaving it needs your wallet signature and your passcode, checked by BAKvault's co-signing service — so someone who steals your private key still cannot empty it. The co-signer can never move funds on its own.
Withdrawals from a protected vault wait until it is back. If it stays silent, the emergency exit lets you withdraw with your wallet key alone after four days.
If you think you have found a security issue in BAKvault, email privacy@brainark.online with the details and please do not share it publicly until we have had a chance to fix it.
